At the Vanguard

My painting Pale Shelter was featured in the weekend edition of Spain’s La Vanguardia as part of a feature on the Lunar Codex, Samuel Peralta’s visionary project that will launch a cultural archive to the moon. In the interview, I was asked about my first impressions upon finding out that digital versions of my paintings would have a permanent home on the moon. My response:

“When I found out one of my paintings would be going to the moon I thought ‘Wow, how coo!’, but I admit I didn’t fully get it… it sounded like Science Fiction. It was only in learning more about Dr. Peralta that I understood how poetic and hopeful the project is, that it is as much for us now as it is for any future civilization or explorer to discover.”
